Women’s Climbing Weekend
Saturday, July 22nd & Sunday, July 23rd
Come join a stellar group of people for a stellar weekend of climbing and community!
This program is open to any women (transgender and cisgender), as well as non-binary people, who are looking to gain more knowledge and experience in the world of outdoor rock climbing.
Maybe you have a gym climbing background, you have been outside a few times over the years, or maybe you have just always wanted to try real rock climbing. Perfect! This weekend has your name written all over it!
On Day 1, we will work together to get everyone on the same page with an understanding of the considerations for climbing outdoors – best belaying practices, outdoor climbing ethics, essential safety guidelines, and outdoor climbing techniques. We want to share lots of information with you, but we also will be sure to get loads of climbing in! Not all routes may suit each individual perfectly, but everyone will have plenty of opportunity to challenge themselves appropriately.
On Day 2, we will continue to build off of what we learned and practiced on day 1. There will be lots more climbing and more lessons on key technical skills (perhaps rappelling and/or basic anchor building skills). We will be sure to choose a climbing a climbing site that suits the group well!
