Intro to Ice

A one-day introduction to the fundamentals of ice climbing that includes the basics of equipment, technical skills, and climbing movement, as well as a hefty dose of the climbing itself.

Ice climbing is tool use, so it can be less intuitive than rock climbing. Luckily, proper technique can be easily learned and a few hours with an expert could literally save you years of trial and error. Get started with a good foundation in a highly informative day, and you’ll be ready for some of the New Hampshire classics.

This course is perfect for someone with rock climbing experience (indoors or outdoors), as well as those who have never been climbing before. The beauty of private guiding is that it allows our guides to meet you exactly where you are in terms of prior experience and future goals.
