Calvin Tague

Calvin is a dedicated professional who spends the academic year as the Director of Adventure Programs at a NH boarding school for teens. He is committed to blending his educational pursuits with his passion for climbing. He believes in a shared experience between participants and instructors based on an expeditionary mental framework and team-based values. Calvin has been developing this particular pedagogy for over a decade.

In 2014 he graduated from Unity College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Adventure Based Environmental Education and immediately flew to Nepal for an internship. The mission was not only to explore the world but to provide aspiring youth with the knowledge and technical skills to join the guiding industry. After which, he took his first paid position as a guide in Vietnam, leading multiple outdoors disciplines with a wide range of international clientele.

Calvin’s true love for guiding in the mountains and over rock terrain flourished in the Sierra Nevada. Under the tutelage of an AMGA accredited company he sought to develop his skills in alpine terrain and led remote backpacking trips for weeks at a time. Extensive travel in the off season has afforded him a vibrant list of accomplishments on desert towers, in Mexican caves and numerous other word class destinations around the country.

Calvin is a AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide and Single Pitch Instructor. He is eagerly seeking out projects at Rumney and ticking off classic cracks on Cathedral Ledge. Please join him in pursuing rock craft or if you just want to get out and have fun!
