Louie Allen

Growing up in southern Ohio, Louie’s climbing life began in the hollers and hills of Kentucky’s Red River Gorge.  Though he still calls that southern sandstone mecca his home for much of the year, He travels north annually to revel in the magic of a New England winter.  A people-person through and through, Louie’s great joy is spending time outside with others who are looking to learn something new and challenge themselves.

Louie constantly works to balance his climbing and guiding endeavors between the alpine of California’s Sierra Nevada, rock of the southeast, and brilliant winters of New England.  It’s a lot to juggle, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.  In his down-time he cheers fruitlessly for the Cincinnati Bengals, devours novels, and bakes cookies.

In addition to holding an MS in Recreation and Sport Science, Louie is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide, is pursuing Alpine Guide certification and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. He’s all-in for his work as a guide, strength trainer, and climbing coach to help developing climbers and hikers achieve meaningful goals in the mountains.
